The material affects your comfort and the quality of your rain shoes
Our rain boot range is made in different materials with multiple advantages. Rubber rain boots, well known to all, are the essential material for jumping into puddles. Used historically in the design of boots, the majority of natural rubber comes from the rubber tree, a tree known for its production of latex. Natural rubber has good flexibility, comfort and waterproofing properties. However, this material requires specific maintenance since rubber boots, like the Phoenix model, must be stored in a dry place and protected from UV rays. It is advisable to apply silicone spray every three months to maintain the properties of the natural rubber. However, rubber is no longer in the limelight today, and other materials such as PVC and SEBS are competing with it! For several years now, part of our range of rain boots has included these materials. Among our models of rain boots for women or men, take a look at our Chester and Chaume boots. They are made from PVC (plastic), which ensures good resistance to abrasion and cuts. They are stiffer than natural rubber, but PVC rain boots protect just as well against water and moisture.
